What’s the L’Arche difference?
Within our home, we are people living together as an intentional community. We are people with gifts, fears, struggles, joys, and stories. We are people who care deeply for each other’s welfare, who have responsibilities, share faith, and strive for personal growth. Some of us have intellectual disabilities, some of us do not, and all of us have gifts.
Rather than hourly, rotating staff that acts as care and service providers, we have assistants who live in the home with our Core Members, just as family lives together. More than a residence that provides food and shelter, we are a community of people sharing everyday life.
